Tent Land with Nature Play WA
Thanks to Getaway Outdoors and Coleman.
Join the Nature Play WA team at Tent Land for their fun (and funny!) “how-to” tent pitching demonstrations with our “expert” tent pitcher, and learn some great lessons in choosing the best campsite, preparing and laying out your tent, and putting it up with ease – perfect for first time campers. Take part in our family tent pitching challenge: work together as a family team to pitch your tent in the allotted time and you could win vouchers to spend at Getaway Outdoors!
Getaway Outdoors will have a variety of tents on display for you to look at and determine the right tent for your needs.
Across the weekend, Nature Play WA will be available to provide information and resources to support families in getting off devices, off the couch, and into the beautiful outdoors. Get tips on spending quality time together in fun, simple ways; from activities in your own backyard and neighbourhood, to beaches and nature playgrounds, through to exploring the beauty of WA’s National Parks and outdoor recreation spots.
4WD Tips and Hacks Demonstration with Eureka 4WD Training
Have you ever wondered how to use all that recovery equipment you have purchased safely and in a proper manner? Or maybe you have your eyes on a particular piece of recovery gear but you are just not sure if it’s correct for your vehicle!
Well at this year’s show the guys from Eureka 4WD Training will have lots of recovery gear at the stand including High Lift jacks, Exhaust Jacks, Winches and Recovery boards, which they will be more than happy to demonstrate how to attach and use these products safely on a vehicle.
Also they will have a few products relating to tyre deflation and inflation and will be happy to have a chat about driving through sand when towing your camper trailer or caravan.
The demos will run all day from 10 am until 4 pm in The Piazza (Site 366).
All you have to do is come and see the guys, at stand and just let them know what recovery gear you want to see demonstrated.
The owner of Eureka Mark Haffenden, told us, ”We will never sell any products at Eureka but from time to time we do get asked by manufacturers to try their products out. We will then offer our students an un-biased opinion what products work and are good value for money.”
When you go see the guys, why not put your name in the competition box to win one of 5 ”free” recreational 4 wheel drive courses that they will be giving away, that’s 1 course every day.
Towing and Reversing Demonstration with Global Gypsies Tours and Training
Location: Site 350, next to the Silver Jubilee Pavilion
Global Gypsies demonstrations are designed to encourage novice and newbie caravanners to ‘learn to tow before you go’ and will focus on one of the most commonly expressed concerns – reversing. They will be run by their award-winning trainers and tour operators, Global Gypsies.
The 20-minute Gypsies towing demonstrations will take place at Site 350, just outside the Silver Jubilee Pavilion, see times below.
Commentary will be provided by two professional towing trainers as they execute a stress-free and ‘divorce-proof’ parking maneuver in which a driver and a ‘guider’ use only hand signals to reverse a 20’ caravan into a tight parking spot. Admission is free, seating will be provided and there will be time for questions afterwards.
In addition, Global Gypsies will be giving away ONE free, half-day, personalised towing training course worth $385 every day of the Show. For a chance to win, simply visit the Global Gypsies stand adjacent to the demo track, fill in an entry form and pop it into the entry box provided. Winners will be notified by phone or email and the prize is valid for 12 months.
The company’s four-hour towing courses are private, one-on-one sessions – no big groups, no pressure and no jargon. The instructors will even go to a client’s home if they are a bit nervous about towing for the first time. Courses can be arranged at times and venues to suit and are designed for one or two persons using their own caravan and vehicle.
And if you’re going caravanning in the near future, please “Learn to tow before you go!”
