How to use a Snatch Strap Safely and Recovery Gear Demonstrations with Eureka 4WD Training
Have you ever wondered how to use all that recovery equipment you have purchased safely and in a proper manner? Or maybe you have your eyes on a particular piece of recovery gear, but you are just not sure if it’s correct for your vehicle!
Well at this year’s show the guys from Eureka 4WD Training will have lots of recovery gear at the stand including High Lift jacks, Exhaust Jacks, Winches and Recovery boards, which they will be more than happy to demonstrate how to attach and use these products safely on a vehicle.
They will also have a few products relating to tyre deflation and inflation and will be happy to have a chat about driving through sand when towing your camper trailer or caravan.
All you have to do is come and see the guys, at site 421 and just let them know what recovery gear you want to see demonstrated. The demos will run all day from 10 am until 4 pm.
This year they will also be retrieving a bogged 4-wheel drive vehicle with a camper van attached from the sand using a snatch strap. There will be two demos daily, the first at 11.30am and the second at 2.30pm.
When you go see the guys, why not put your name in the competition box to win one of 5 free recreational 4-wheel drive courses that they will be giving away, that’s 1 course every day.
Towing and Reversing Demonstration with Global Gypsies Tours and Training
Location: Site 350, next to the Silver Jubilee Pavilion
Global Gypsies demonstrations are designed to encourage novice and newbie caravanners to ‘learn to tow before you go’ and will focus on one of the most commonly expressed concerns – reversing. They will be run by their award-winning trainers and tour operators, Global Gypsies.
The 20-minute Gypsies towing demonstrations will take place at Site 350, just outside the Silver Jubilee Pavilion, see times below.
Commentary will be provided by two professional towing trainers as they execute a stress-free and ‘divorce-proof’ parking maneuver in which a driver and a ‘guider’ use only hand signals to reverse a 20’ caravan into a tight parking spot. Admission is free, tiered seating will be provided and there will be time for questions afterwards.
For those who want to sign up for a towing course, the Gypsies offer private, one-on-one sessions on dates to suit – no big groups, no pressure and no jargon. The experienced instructors will even go to your home in/near the CBD at no extra charge to conduct the training if you’re a bit nervous about towing for the first time. The personalised courses can be arranged at mutually convenient times and venues and are designed for one or two persons using their own caravan and vehicle.
The company has also professionally produced a 90-minute, top-selling, towing training DVD called “Caravanning with Confidence” which will be on sale at the Show at the special price of just $20.
When planning your visit to this year’s Caravan & Camping Show, be sure to slot in some time to watch the towing demonstrations, have a chat to the Global Gypsies instructors and pick up a copy of the new CIA Towing Guide outlining legal requirements, weight compliance, braking systems, correct equipment, towing tips and more.
And if you’re going caravanning in the near future, please “Learn to tow before you go!”
